About TheFreeTool

Our mission

We want everyone to have simple, honest tools for everyday jobs: working out take-home pay, compressing a PDF, resizing a photo or counting words. People should not need an account or a credit card to do something that takes a few seconds.

How we build

Each tool has its own page and is written, tested and explained properly before it goes live. Wherever we can, the tool runs inside your browser, so what you type or upload stays on your device.

Every page is available in English, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Punjabi, Indonesian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Bengali and Urdu. We write for people, in plain words, and we say so when a tool has limits.

How we pay for it

The site is free to use. We may show ads in the future to cover the costs of running it. If we do, ads will never replace the content, and we will update our privacy and cookie pages first.
