How to use it

  1. Enter your business details and your client's details.
  2. Add the items, with quantity and rate, then the tax and any discount.
  3. Pick a template, colour, font and paper size.
  4. Press Print or save as PDF. In the print window, choose Save as PDF.

What should an invoice include?

A clear invoice names who is billing and who is being billed, has a unique invoice number and dates, lists each item with its price, shows tax and the total due, and says how and when to pay. Putting payment terms and a short note at the bottom helps you get paid on time.

The rules for tax numbers and required wording differ by country, so check what applies to you. This tool lays out the invoice and does the sums. It does not decide your tax rate or give tax advice.

Example

Ten hours at $85, a $450 setup fee and three items at $120 come to $1,660. A 5% discount takes off $83, leaving $1,577. With 8% tax of $126.16 the total due is $1,703.16.

Can I use a different currency?
Yes. Use the currency menu at the top of the form and the amounts update.
Does it work out tax for me?
It applies the rate you type. Check your local rules for the correct rate and any required tax numbers.
