What goes into a good quotation?
A quotation tells a client what you will charge before any work starts. It should name you and the client, list each item with a price, show tax and any discount, give a total and say how long the price is valid. A clear quote avoids arguments later.
Unlike an invoice, a quote is an offer, not a request for payment. When the client agrees, you can turn it into an invoice with the same details. Keep the valid-until date short enough that your costs will not change before it ends.
Example
Ten hours of design at 85, a setup fee of 450 and three revision rounds at 120, with 5% off and 8% tax, come to a total of about 1,703 once the discount and tax are added. Change any line and the total updates at once.
