Working Days Calculator

Pick a start date, an end date and a country. The tool counts the working days in between, leaving out weekends and that country's public holidays, and lists the holidays it skipped.

Good to know

This calculator is for general planning only. Holiday dates come from a third-party service and can change or be announced late. It does not know your employer's days off, regional holidays or contract terms. For payroll, legal deadlines, notice periods or delivery promises, confirm the dates with an official source or your employer.

What it does

  • Skips weekends and national public holidays
  • Holidays for 200+ countries, fetched live and always current
  • Choose your weekend: Saturday–Sunday, Friday–Saturday or Sunday only
  • Option to count or skip the start and end dates
  • Shows calendar days, weekend days and holidays too

How to use it

  1. Choose the start and end dates.
  2. Pick a country, or "No holidays" to skip only weekends.
  3. Pick your weekend days, then read the working days and the holidays that were left out.

How are working days counted?

The tool goes through every day from the start date to the end date. A day is skipped if it falls on your weekend or on a national public holiday of the chosen country. Everything else counts as a working day. If a holiday falls on a weekend, it is only removed once, not twice.

Holiday dates come live from the free Nager.Date service, and for India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan from Google's public holiday calendars, so they update themselves each year. Regional holidays, optional festivals and company days off are not included, so subtract your own days off if you have any.

Example

From Monday 1 June 2026 to Tuesday 30 June 2026, with a Saturday–Sunday weekend, there are 22 working days before any holiday is removed. Each public holiday that falls on a weekday takes one more off.

Questions people ask

Does it count the start and end dates?
By default, yes, both are counted, like the NETWORKDAYS function in spreadsheets. Untick the box to leave them out.
Are public holidays updated automatically?
Yes. They are fetched live from Nager.Date for the countries and years you choose, so nobody updates them by hand.
Is India supported?
Yes. India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan use Google's public holiday calendars, because Nager.Date does not cover them. Only days marked as public holidays are removed, not optional festivals, so subtract any extra days off yourself.
Does it include regional or company holidays?
No. Only national public holidays are removed. Regional holidays and your employer's own days off are not included.
