  2. Enter your time in hours, minutes and seconds.
  3. Read your pace and speed.

How is pace worked out?

Pace is the time it takes to cover one unit of distance, usually a minute-and-seconds figure per kilometre or per mile. Divide your total time by the distance. Speed is the opposite: the distance covered in one hour.

A mile is 1.609 kilometres, so a pace per mile is about 1.6 times slower than the same pace per kilometre. Use the pace as a guide for training and race planning. Hills, weather and fatigue change it on the day.

Example

Running 10 km in 50 minutes is a pace of 5:00 per kilometre, which is about 8:03 per mile. Your average speed is 12.0 km/h, or about 7.5 mph.
